Panel 1

Steve: (holding up a mallet, ready to strike, waiting for Rupert to come out from under the fridge) "Come on out, I won't hurt you..."

Panel 2

Rupert lifts the fridge up, Steve looks surprised.
Rupert: "Prepare to taste the kiss of vengeance!"

Panel 3

Rupert SWAK!'s Steve with the fridge.

Panel 4

Steve lies down, powerless to resist.
Rupert: "And now to deliver the coup de grâce!"

Panel 5

Steve: "H-how can you even lift that?"
Rupert: "Ignorant oaf! The noble cockroach can lift many 100's of times his own body weight"

Panel 6

Steve: "I thought that was ants..."
Rupert: (looking up worriedly) "Ants...?"

Panel 7

The fridge WUNCH!'s Rupert.
Steve is still lying down, looking at what happened.

Panel 8

Close-up on Rupert, whose bodily fluids are now at large.
Rupert: "And so... ... I die..."

Fun Facts

  • Ants can actually only lift 50 times their own weight. A rhino beetle, however, can lift 850 times its own weight.
  • James added this comment to this comic:

"Hey folks! That's the end of the Rupert T. Roach story, and since I never ever bring chracters back from the dead with no explanation, this is definitely the last you'll be seeing of him. Definitely."

This was a reference to Comic 37, where Beaver died, but was back alive by the next one as if nothing had happened. And, not surprisingly, the same thing now happened to Rupert, just three comics later.
