Beaver finds Steve looking unhappy on the floor.
Beaver: "Hey Steve! Why so glum?"
Steve: "Sigh...I'm in love Beaver."
Beaver: "In love? But that's wonderful! You should be happy!"
Steve: "But the object of my affections loves another. She only has eyes for the guy off the Antiques Roadshow!"
Steve shows Beaver a photo of a girl who looks Steve only with eyelashes, lipstick and a bowtie.
Beaver: "Hmm...I can see why: He commands a lot of respect. So who's this girl that's making my buddy so blue?"
Steve: "It's Stevetta. Her beautiful visage fills my every waking thought."
Beaver: "Ooh - She's pretty hot. But don't worry - I think I have a plan!"
Beaver: "We're going on the Antiques Roadshow to win Stevetta back!"
Beaver: "Yes, but first we're going..."
Beaver (dramatically): "TO EGYPT!"
[TO BE CONTD.]
This is one of the few episodes which feature no onomatopoeias.
We finally get to see a female version of Steve.
This strip and its' continuing part proves that Beaver and Steve is a very British comic.
The Antiques Roadshow is a popular television programme that comes on a Sunday on BBC1. It's about antiques dealing. Pretty dull really.
