Title: revenge of the SHOE GOBLIN - part 5
Date: August 15, 2006
Summary: Beaver and Steve follow the Shoe Goblin with their very own rocket.
Cast: Beaver, Steve, (possibly) Moustache Guy, Sun
Onomatopoeias used: "JING", "FOOSH!", "FIDDLE!", "ADJUST!", "BLASTOFF!"
Number of panels: 6
Transcript
Panel 1
The Shoebox rocket is fired and as it's rockets go FOOSH! we hear the Shoe Goblin's bells go JING JING.
The Sun is still observing everything from above.
Beaver: "OH CRUMBS!"
Beaver: "We're too late: the shoe box has launched!"
Guy: "Well that's something you don't see every day..."
Panel 2
Beaver: "Who knows what sort of mischief the Shoe Goblin will get up to now!"
Beaver: "Oh, if only we had some sort of "rocket" that could launch into "space""
Panel 3
Steve: "Well, maybe we could use my Space-rocket?"
Beaver: "Hmm - I suppose it's worth a try..."
Panel 4
[INSIDE...]
Speaker: "Countdown initiated."
Beaver: (FIDDLE!ing and ADJUST!ing some controls) "This rocket is amazing! Where did you get it?"
Speaker: "10... 9..."
Steve: (holding up a magazine) "I built it myself from the snap-together pieces that came with each issue of 'Rocket Builder' magazine."
Speaker: "... 8... 7..."
Steve: "Issue #1 came with a free ring binder and a titanium nose-cone."
Panel 5
Beaver: "But Steve, half of these are my cookery magazines..."
Speaker: ".. 6.. 5.."
Steve: "That could explain why the oxygen recycling unit is built from pancetta.."
Beaver: "Wait.. what?"
Speaker: ".. 4.. 3.."
Steve: "And I did wonder why the re-entry thrusters were made from rillettes of duck with confit of cranberries."
Beaver: "I'd like to get off now..."
Speaker: ".. 2.. 1.."
Panel 6
The Space-rocket is launched with a loud fiery BLASTOFF!
Beaver: "AAAAH!"
Steve: "Mmm... the air is bacon-fresh!"
[To be contd.]
Fun Facts
- The rocket stayed together even though it was partly made of foodstuffs. This once again proves the strength of food.
- Without a working oxygen recycler and re-entry thrusters Beaver and Steve are quite doomed. Unless hypothetically something completely unfeasible were to happen soon.
References
- Pancetta is an Italian form of bacon. It is pork belly that has been salt cured and spiced, and dried for about three months.
- The Master gave us a link to the recipe for of Duck with Confit of Cranberries, claiming "The sharpness of the confit nicely counteracts the richness of the rocket fuel."
