======Panel 1======

The Dentist Ghosts have put their head back on, and Steve looks visibly shaken.
Dentist: All finished! See you again soon!
Beaver: There Steve, that wasn't so bad was it?
Beaver: How's the tooth?

======Panel 2======

Steve holds his cheek, looking cross.
Steve: He gave me a filling.
Beaver: Well that's good! Now it won't hurt when you eat!

======Panel 3======

Steve opens his mouth, to show the Filling Ghosts, who have an EERIE GLOW.
Steve: The filling is haunted
Beaver: Hmm... maybe we should have gone private?
Filling Ghost #2: Wooooooooo
Filling Ghost #1: Ghooooosts!

======Panel 4======

LATER...
Beaver and Steve are eating some cheese. Steve still looks cross as he CHOMs on his.
Beaver: How are you enjoying your dinner Steve?
Steve: Everything tastes of ghosts.
Beaver: Oh, that's good! Now, eat your cheese.
======Panel 5======

INSIDE STEVE'S MOUTH...
View from inside Steve's mouth, you can see his teeth and the smiling block of Cheese as he puts it in.
Cheese: At last! The time of eating is upon me!
Steve: GLAAAAA
Cheese: As foretold in the scriptures of gouda, with the stroke of the teeh of judgement my soul can finally escape this cheesey form and fly free, across the cosmos!

======Panel 6======

Steve's teeth CHOM! down on the Cheese, releasing its angel-winged-and-haloed soul to ASCEND!
Cheese: It's true! I'm free!
Cheese: Now at last I can ascend to the great dairy section in the sky, and join all my lost brothers and sisters in the eternal fondue! Joy!

======Panel 7======

BUT!
Filling Ghost #1: Oh boy, ghost cheese, my favorite!
Cheese: What? No!
Filling Ghost #2: I brought ghost crackers.
Daemon: "I HAVE RETURNED!"
==Fun Facts==

*To summon a demon, you need to bake it in a cake (with 50ml of virgin's blood in it), at gas mark 666 ([[Wikipedia:Number of the Beast|Number of the Beast]]) and cook it for 45 minutes.
*It seems Beaver always carries a 50ml bottle of virgin's blood around.

==References==

*Beaver makes a reference to the [[Wikipedia:Atkins Nutritional Approach|Atkins Diet]], which has been a subject of controversy for many years.
*[[Wikipedia:J. K. Rowling|J. K. Rowling]], the apparent author of "Dæmonic summonation, a beginner's guide" is most widely known as the author of the [[Wikipedia:Harry Potter|Harry Potter]] series.
Hmm, sounds interesting. If you would be willing to (eventually) translate all the BnS comics, I could put them up on the site. Or just the wiki, if you're thinking of 'text-only' translations. Though if you (or someone else who is good with graphics and not necessarily a French speaker) could also edit the comic images accordingly (like those on the [http://www.studioportoroz.it/bns/ Italian BnS site]), that would be even more awesome.

--[[User:Justas|Justas]] 07:38, 7 Dec 2005 (MST)

I would be happy to do that, I know some people who may help me. What's the name of the font you use ? But begining by translating on the wiki is a good thing, and it will permit to dicuss on the translations.

--[[User:Zorigaman|Zorigaman]] 10:07, 8 Dec 2005 (MST)

Not sure about the font. James seems to do most of the comics by handwriting. You can mail the guy who makes the Italian translations at santeilbandito@gmail.com and ask what he's using on his versions.

But you can probably start with the French translations right away, probably using the "Comic x/French" format. So the translation for [[Comic 1]] would go on [[Comic 1/French]], etc. As for the formatting, you could just copy-paste the transcription bit from the original comic's page source and replace the lines with their French equivalents. And probably put the new pages in [[:Category:French]] or something. I could take care of that myself later.

--[[User:Justas|Justas]] 10:34, 8 Dec 2005 (MST)

Handwriting ? Damn, I don't want to copy-past letters : P
I'll begin the translation this weekend perhaps. Thanks for the answers.

--[[User:Zorigaman|Zorigaman]] 10:21, 11 Dec 2005 (MST)

Cool. I don't think we should make duplicate pages for the unofficial French onomatopoeias though, might get a bit crowded :P

Also, I think I can now whip up a little PHP script that makes the "frenchification" a bit easier. Should be done soon.

--[[User:Justas|Justas]] 11:34, 11 Dec 2005 (MST)

Meanwhile, a couple things: You could translate the phrases "previous comic" and "next comic" on [[Template:FrenchPageNav]] and then change the <nowiki>[[Steve's Lice]]</nowiki> bit on [[Comic 1/French]] to <nowiki>[[Steve's Lice|Le liceées du en de la Stéve, eh!]]</nowiki> or whatever the French equivalent to that is ;)

--[[User:Justas|Justas]] 11:55, 11 Dec 2005 (MST)

Allright, [http://www.beaverandsteve.com/translate.php TRANSLATOR'D!] To translate a new comic, just type its number in the first box and hit 'Refresh'. Or just use the translate.php?comic=x URL format. I'll probably need to polish it a bit more afterwards, but it'd be good to have someone take it out for a test run ;)

It's also ready to have new languages added to it, all I need are some basic terms ("link", "title", etc), for which the French versions I already got from what you've done so far. Speaking of which, are the words for "date", "transcription" and "references" spelled the same in French or did some of them accidentally slip through when you made the pages? :P

--[[User:Justas|Justas]] 17:12, 11 Dec 2005 (MST)

Wow, well done, it's a lot more cool and easier.
I wish i didn't have some work to finish tonight :(
title is titre in french, summary is sommaire, references are réfèrences, caption is légende, fun facts are... choses drôles ? not really a good translation... I've to find a better replacement...

--[[User:Zorigaman|Zorigaman]] 13:52, 13 Dec 2005 (MST)

''I swear I wanted to work!'' I've tried your nice script, it works well, are you a php guru ?
So far so good, the only problem I saw was that there might be a problem with the charset or some obscur thing I do not know, because my accents were not accepted between the script and the preview wiki. ''=> Mes accents ont été mangés par la béte, peut-être qu'ils reviendrons ?''

--[[User:Zorigaman|Zorigaman]]

Hmm, so far you had used "Resumé" as the French equivalent for "summary", so I left it like that - then we won't have to change the existing pages :P

The translator script was actually mainly just reworked from [http://www.beaverandsteve.com/wikisubmit.php this], which I assume you haven't seen yet. Although that was made by me as well. PHP is a fun hobby ;)

And I fixed the accents problem, seems to be working fine now.

One thing, though... I'm still not sure about making duplicate French versions of all the characters' pages (and various other things that might eventually be Frenchified). A multi-lingual wiki would be cool, but we don't have too many French editors here. So you'd probably have to do the vast majority of all the extra French pages yourself, otherwise we'd end up with tons of red links :P It might also get a bit unorganised, but I suppose that's not too big a problem.

It's currently running on 1.4.7. Lots of database changes with 1.5. I read the UPGRADE file, the official MediaWiki "1.4.7 to 1.5.2" upgrade tutorial and then some, but it was still rather messy. I'll probably try to do the db upgrade on my local machine, back it up and restore on BnS, or see if James has any details on accessing the command line.

Handwriting ? Damn, I don't want to copy-past letters : P
I'll begin the translation this weekend perhaps. Thanks for the answers.

Two comics translated. I might continue tonight.

Bleargh. Tried to, but it wasn't pretty. Realised I needed to have command-line access to run php scripts that couldn't be run via the web. So then I upgraded anyway and all got messed up, and then I reverted to a backup.

Might try again at some point, but not right now :P

--[[User:Pcj|Pcj]] 10:39, 11 Dec 2005 (MST)

It's currently running on 1.4.7. Lots of database changes with 1.5. I read the UPGRADE file, the official MediaWiki "1.4.7 to 1.5.2" upgrade tutorial and then some, but it was still rather messy. I'll probably try to do the db upgrade on my local machine, back it up and restore on BnS, or see if James has any details on accessing the command line.

--[[User:Justas|Justas]] 11:27, 11 Dec 2005 (MST)

Hah! I just ran the install script and remade the LocalSettings.php like it said...don't know why that doesn't work for you.
