Thanks Lobotomist, and I'd just like to say I don't think I got nothing from Beaver and Steve, and I certainly don't regret doing it - it's been a great few years, and I honestly hope that one day I'll be able to bring the guys back!
_________________
rock on!
Dear Artist

I am sad to see Beaver & Steve will pass into old comic oblivion.

For all that is worth , you should know this. Coming from someone that wished to be comic artist , but as life goes just became professional illustrator - and never published a comic in his life.

You say you wasted 1000 hours of your life doing Beaver & Steve , for what you gained nothing.

Dear sir , Beaver & Steve is one of the best comics on World Wide Web. If not THE best. Among millions.

Is that nothing ?

Your stylized drawing style and wacky humor inspired tons of other comic artists.

Is that nothing ?

On the end of the day Beaver & Steve , came and make a big huge footprint on the contemporary comics and art. And that is much more worth than any financial gain.

I thank you from all my heart for giving the world this wonderful creation.

Thanks for Beaver & Steve !
I've had an epiphany. Whilst sprawled on the floor in the aftermath of a squash shot gone horribly wrong, I came to the realisation that my current life as an assistant accounting clerk in a failing stationary company was a complete and utter waste. I was inspired, Mr Turner, to devote my life to a higher calling. Using some money left to me by an estranged uncle (I had to spend a night in a haunted house to get it but that's a whole other, 3-part story), I founded the Church of Beaver & Steve and set up our first chapter in the borough of South Shields. Our numbers have swelled exponentially and allowed me to set up two sister organisations: Steveism and the Beaver's Witnesses. The word is spreading, and soon all shall bear witness to the divinity that is Beaver & Steve. The infidels will be converted or BURN.
I'm sure if you're too busy to update this little gem, I doubt you'd want to put in all the effort to get a book together, but I was wondering, Mr. J. Turner, if we can hope for a third book to add to our collections.

Good luck with the non-beaver-and-steve-animal-comic, I'm sure you'll be employed with them (and people who see your work there) for a while :)
Is it really over...? Oh, bittersweet relief. I, for one, am glad you made the decision to actually end it instead of dragging it out indefinitely with updates coming further and fewer between until they dribbled away to nothing. I prefer definite endings. And what a strip to go out with! I'd say it's a perfect example of Beaver and Steve quirkiness.

Good luck with that other comic with the really long name, James! And thanks for all the good times. I'll always look forward to that e-mail about coming back from hiatus. In the mean time, would it be at all feasible to put together the remaining strips that aren't in volume 1 or 2 and put them into a book of their own? It'd probably be pretty small, but I'd love to have hard copies of the entire collection. ^_^
_________________
Life + Universe + Everything = 42
